Interactionn & Fictions

The notion of interaction lays at the basis of the line of research Interactions & Fictions and determines three experimental axes concerning the artistic fictions:

 

- Interaction between the media of one work of art: " intermediality ",

- Interaction between the fiction and the reality: "interpenetrations",

- Interaction between the work of art and the user, the interactive devices and the participants: "interactivity".

 

Audiovisual devices, exhibition modalities, on-line works of art, interactive works, alternated realities, urban games are the main areas of the researches involved.

 

Concentrated at first on the questions of territories and definitions of the artistic fictions (semantic, syntactic, pragmatic approaches), the team promotes from now on its researches on the notion of interaction in the couple Fictions and interactions.

 

The questions of the artistic devices; relationships between real, fictional, virtual immersions; those of the performativity and the effects of presence are developed. They involve notions of the "situated interactions", of "geofiction" & sound fictions. The questions of the mobility and the digital interfaces in the multiuser devices, Alternated Realities Games (ARGs), Hybrid Reality Games, (HRGs) have become now the center of the researches for the team Interactions et Fictions.

 

 

The notion of interaction is to be understood from a triple point of view:

 

- Interaction between the media of a one work of art: " intermédiality ":

It concerns the question of studying the peculiarities and the relations of the various semiotic supports within the same work of art and the realization modalities of these artistic and visual fictions.

 

- Interaction between the work of art and the user, the interactive devices and the participants: "interactivity".

The interaction understood as immersion - or distancing - modalities allows to redefine the classical situation of the work of art-user through the exhibition of visual works of art, interactive devices, the participants in the multiuser games, the notion of situated interaction.

 

- Interaction between the fiction and the reality: "interpenetrations":

Beyond the interactive devices (cognitive or instrumented), we study the artistic fictions aiming to contaminate or to blur more or less voluntarily relationships between the fiction and the reality; in other words, works of art among which the structure or purpose will be to question their own fictionality and its limits
